Stop Binge Eating without Dieting

Don’t Read text below if you can watch video - Text is just repeat of video.

Dieting is a very ineffective way to stop binge eating. If you diet then chances are you’ll always keep dieting. Dieting is whenever you forbid yourself from having a certain group of foods.

Lets say you tell yourself that you wont have any junk foods. Sooner or later you’ll have a junk food. Maybe it’s in a moment of weakness or maybe you come home stressed one day and grab a comfort food or a junk food.

Now that you “broke your diet” you’ll feel guilty, hopeless and disappointed at yourself. You might give up on binge eating treatment or trying to lose weight. You might even keep eating the junk food, thinking what’s the point to stop if I’ve already fallen off track?

This is a very unhealthy way to stop binge eating and it doesn’t work. Instead you need to work on eating a good balance of junk foods and healthy foods. This is more realistic and it’s something you truly can maintain for a lifetime, not just another temporary diet.

A great way to stop binge eating is to ask “am I hungry?” as you reach out for food. As you ask yourself this you’ll start discovering that often you aren’t physically hungry rather you are eating because it’s time to eat or because of pressure from others or simply out of boredom.

Asking “am I hungry?” as you are reaching for food will help you in your binge eating treatment. It will help you become aware of why you eat and get a handle on your eating habits.
