Sarah, thanks for the post, I love getting on here and finding sweet messages from my friends. I love a good long walk! I don't usually get to walk 5 or 6 miles, only when my grandson goes to his play day or when I can walk more than once a day. My usual walk is 3 miles. But I feel my best when I can get in that 5 mile walk, it makes me feel so energetic and great all day long. A lot of people on here run, I would love to run, it looks like so much fun. I've tried it though and can't manage it. So I walk! I would love to find some sort of walking marathon someday where I could walk maybe 20 miles or so. That would be so much fun! Maybe someday. Wish I could join Louise's group and do the walking part.

Nat, the extra portraits were $30 dollars each. That would have been fine if they were exceptional pictures. The picture cd was $200. I would love to have had the cd where I could have printed all the pics I wanted, but right now we are helping our daughter out with school and living expenses, so I just had to settle for fewer pictures of my tator tot. Wish you were here to take pictures of him, I know your pics would be premium and well worth the extra bucks!

Louise, that is wonderful news that you are thinking about starting a family. You would be a great Mommy. Wait, should I whisper? shhhhhh, didn't know if I'm supposed to keep this quiet. Uh oh, I think it is too late, its already out and I bet it will be all the talk on this forum. It would be so exciting to have someone on here with a bun in the oven. No pressure, do it when you are ready, I'm just excited. Ya know, I LOVE BABIES! Thank you so much for your sweet words, you make me feel so good. xxxxxx to you too!

Here is my daily update for now.

Went for a walk at the mall with my guys. Repeat, repeat, do I sound like a broken record? I start everyday off the same way, I love my boring life! It suits me just perfectly. Came home, fed the boy, and rocked him to sleep, he is napping right now which gives me that daily opportunity to visit with my buds on here. My favorite time of the day is rocking my little guy to sleep, I've said it before and I'll say it again, that fuzzy little head nuzzled against my cheek IS THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD! My second favorite time of the day is when I get to log on here and post, post, post. I just love you guys! When the little man wakes up, I'll head on down the alley to the inlaw's house for that family get together. My hubby just gathered the desserts we furnish and took off in that direction towards his parent's house. If you are wondering, it is great living so close to the inlaw's, they are wonderful people and we have lived just houses away from them for almost 30 years. Hope everyone is having a superific Saturday like I am. Hope to see lots of smiles and rainbows coming from my computer screen as I read everyone's journals.

Hey Mama J! Just catching up on your journal!! First, I always let the kids kiss me (I break the rules quite often) haha and I pick up infectious kids with RSV because I can't help cuddling them..that rule is in place I guess for infection control but I just scrub my hands good afterwards! Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday...hahahah Elvis was at walmart!?!? I'm sure that entertained the grandbaby! Love to see you back to your walking schedule! Hope you have a nice time at the in-laws. Have a great day! xoxo ~L

    Hey Joyce!!
Your doing pretty well with your walking even at 3miles a day!! You probably walk as much as I run in a week
What is it about running that you can't manage/don't like? It's just funny cause my mama used to absolutely hate running. Told me she was proud of me for running, but she would NEVER try it herself. I finally convinced her to sign up for a 5k. She didn't like the training at 1st, but now she is hooked.. Prob does more than I do atm... not looking good for me haha.
Doing a walking marathon would be such a great achievement! I bet you would feel so proud of yourself after doing that!! Are you one of those really fast walkers or do you just take it casual?
Sounds like you had another lovely day too!!

Lauren, I know what you mean about having to break the rules now and then. Kiddos need us to show them as much love as we can, especially when they are sick. And I always felt that some of those kids that wanted hugs from me might not get enough of them at home, so I sure wanted to make sure they got hugs when they begged for them.

Sarah, there are two reasons why I can't do the running. First one is that I have damage to my lungs from my acid reflux. Secondly, I have arthritis in my hip and knee on one side and it started hurting me when I tried to run. I think I could probably handle the arthritis pain, but getting light headed and having trouble breathing, I can't handle. I'm not a fast walker, but not a stroller either. I walk 3 miles per hour. I'm not real tall, 5'5", so my legs aren't super long. What do you think, is that fast enough for a cardio walk?

Nat, great, I would love for you to take some pictures of my angel. And I agree, family is pretty special. I like having my family near. My daughter lives right next door and my middle boy lives down the street. My oldest son lives 6 hours away with his wife and two kids. That makes me sad. They will be visiting next weekend, I can't wait!

The rest of my day was just as fabulous as the first half! Had a good time at the inlaw's house. Lots of talking, laughing and catching up all the goings on since last weekend. Came home and went to my hubby's favorite place to eat, McDonalds. I didn't eat a salad this time, nope, I halfed a hamburger happy meal with my grandtot. Then I had a vanilla cone too. It was tasty and I don't feel a bit guilty about it.

I am looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. Sunday is my one day a week to do that. Who knows, I may sleep right through breakfast. I don't have any plans for tomorrow besides some laundry, so I'll just let the day lead me.

    My food for today:
BREAKFAST - yogurt with 1/4c oats, 1 Tblsp flax, 1 Tblsp wheat germ
LUNCH - slice of pork roast, lettuce tomato salad w/ light ranch, apple slices, grapes
DINNER - 1/2 small McDs hamburger, 1/2 small order fries, small soft serve cone
SPECIAL TREAT - 2 protein cookies, decaf coffee

    Walked 2 miles today.

Jen, oh those doggies, they are full of poo! Ha Ha, yes I got a toy! Well the boy did! It was a penguin from Madagascar. I didn't want much to eat so I just split a burger and fry with my tator tot. And I'm sure he would want the toy, don't you think? Go get those dogs, and rub their nose in it. Well maybe not, then you would have to give them a bath. Hope you are enjoying your weekend, ta ta for now pretty lady!

Mirm, he is a cutie pie! I told Jen this on her journal but I think it is worth repeating so everyone else will have a picture in their head of this little angel I keep talking about. Everyone says my 17 month old grandson looks like that kid in the movie "Home Alone". Sorry about the spelling of his name, I'll give it a try, Maculey Culkin. Is that anywhere near correct? Of course this actor is a grown man now, but my grandson looks a little like he did in the movie. Hope this gives everyone an image of my little man to picture when I'm telling you about his baby shenanagans.

    Hey Joyce!
Oh well they are def good reasons not to be running! Walking 3-5miles a day I'm sure it doesn't matter how fast you go, it's still pretty impressive! And means you're walking for at least an hour a day!!
Yumm, I love those little soft serve cones at McDonalds! Great that you enjoyed it with your husband and grandson!! As they say .. "Going to Mcdonalds for a salad is like going to a Brothel for a hug"
Hope you have a lovely relaxing sleep in!

Sarah, how funny, I've never heard that said about having a salad at McDonalds. That's hilarious! I do like their southwest grilled chicken salad though, it has black beans on it and instead of using their salad dressing, I put salsa on it. Yes, that's my goal, to walk at least an hour five days a week. I am able to do it most of the time.

Louise, once you start that family, your life will be so full of love, happy moments, and lots of faces, hands and bottoms to clean up. Having a family was my dream come true.

Yawn.....I didn't get out of bed until 10:30am. It was grand! Unfortunatly my hubby had to get up at 5:30 this morning and head to the station for his 24 hour shift. I missed snuggling with him. Here is some bad news...I think my grandson is getting sick again! He is cranky, wouldn't sleep last night, won't eat today, and is all stuffy. He has been on antibiotics for over 2 weeks already, I just don't know what is going on. He may have caught another viral bug from one of the kids at Mother's Day Out. If that keeps happening, I'm not going to take him, it isn't worth it. He really needs a good long spell that he can be healthy to rebuild his immunity. I'm helping my daughter out with him today. She didn't get to finish her homework last night because the boy wouldn't sleep. And he hasn't let her shower this morning because he wants to be held all of the time. That's another clue that he doesn't feel well and somethink I can sure help out with. So I brought him over to my house and rocked him, he fell asleep in my arms (what a wonderful feeling) and now he is sleeping soundly in his bed. I hope he will take a long nap, it will make him feel better. Well that's me sad story.

On to more positive news. I'm feeling much better! I sure hope my tot didn't catch a bug from me. I really thought I had caught the last bug he had. We just keep tossing stuff back and forth. It's time for some nice weather so we can air these germs out of the house.

My daughter is trying a new recipe today. Edamame wontons. I'll let you all know how they turn out. She tried one and said they were good but she didn't think they would be for everyone. Supposedly you dip them in either sweet and sour sauce or spicy mustard.

It is a cold, cloudy day today, probably won't be going for a walk. I will just hang out here at the house, do some laundry, watch some movies with the boy, and rest. I'll post some more of my lazy day on here later.

Awwww NO! I can't believe it again. I'm sorry Joyce...so frustrating. Maybe hes cutting a tooth? I hope he is not sick again.

I am glad you got to sleep in. We had a structure fire here in town this afternoon. Stupid people flinging cigarettes from an upstairs apt...caught the downstairs front porch on fire. I felt so bad for hubby and these guys cuz its around minus 5 with windchill today. Guuuuuhhhhh! So cold.

Your edamame wontons sound really good. I had edamame for dinner last nite and leftover for lunch today...we are belly twins. If lauren had it too I will scream!

Anyway -- enjoy your day. Are you watching the superbowl???

Hey Mama J! up looks like we've switched...sunny and 50s here today! Sorry... So glad you had a nice time at the in-laws yesterday..haha you guys with your McD's and Walmart! They wanted me to tell you thanks for them hehe Aw he looks like a little McCallie Caulkins?!?! What a cutie pie!! Aw NO mama J..not sick again!! Ok I think you guys really need to keep him out of day care for a bit if possible. Kids in daycare are super prone for passing things around to each other, and it sounds like Little Man is really picking up EVERYTHING. Poor guy. Maybe give him some OJ to up his Vitamin C level. Glad you are feeling better though..Mmm let me know how the edamame wontons turn out! Hugs, L

Hey Joyce, I am so sorry your grandson is stilllll getting sick I am sending you warm weather from my side of the world and hope he gets better soon. You're right, its not worth him playing around with other kids until he's got his immune system back up the poor thing. Enjoy your day! x

Jen, I thought about the boy cutting teeth but he has a snotty nose so I think it's his sinus problem again. That's horrible that your hubby had to get out in that extreme cold to put out a fire that was set by cigarettes. But thank goodness there are good guys like your hubby who care and go out in the cold to help people out. My hubby is at the firestation tonight. Hope he has a quite night. We are belly twins but I guess Lauren didn't join us this time. I'm not watching the superbowl. I've never been a big football fan. Went to every game when my kids were in highschool though, they played in the band and I had to go cheer for the band.

Yes Lauren, it does look like we have switched weather, but the rain that we are having right now is scheduled to move your way in a few days I think. Ha Ha, I think the employees at Walmart and McDonalds are beginning to recognize us. My daughter calls her father a Mickey Ds heavy user! I just have to laugh at that one, it is so true! I have paid for one more month of Mother's Day Out for the boy (he goes on Thursdays), but if he continues to get sick, I'm going to stop taking him for sure. He has already been drinking orange juice for about 2 weeks now. My daughter got him some of the Minute Made Kid's orange juice with the added vitamins. The edemame wontons were yummy. I had two for dinner dipped in sweet and sour sauce. I can post the recipe if you are interested. My daughter made a huge batch and froze them so she can pop them in the toaster oven during the week while she is studying.

Nat, thanks for sending the warm weather, I can't wait for it to get here. Everyone I talk to here has had more illness this winter than winters in the past. I don't know if it is our crazy weather or just more viral bugs floating around than usual.

The little man woke up in a much better mood than he was pre-nap. And he ate a big late lunch too! After he ate, he played and acted like he felt pretty good. I hope he has a better night tonight than last night. I finished up my laundry and watched some home improvement shows. When I finish up here, I'm gonna put my pjs on and crawl in bed with my book. I've been reading Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series for quite some time now, I think I'm on the 4th book. Hope everyone had a happy happy day!

    My food for today:
BREAKFAST (late) - yogurt, oats, flax, wheat germ
LUNCH - 2 thin slices deli ham on 2 slices whole wheat bread with yellow mustard
DINNER - 2 pieces fried catfish, cauliflower, 2 edamame wontons w/sweet and sour sauce, 2 slices whole wheat toast w/pb
SPECIAL TREAT - 2 scoops vanilla icecream with tsp wheat germ & handful of pecans sprinkled on top

Didn't walk today, took the day off.

Aw man Mama J..you sending that rain my way?? Hmm maybe it will by-pass me and go to South Carolina instead! Haha your hubby does sound like a heavy user! I don't blame you with the Mommy's Day Out since it is paid for...and it sounds like he is feeling better today so maybe everything's all good! I'll keep my fingers crossed. Good that he has been drinking OJ! I'm interested in hearing how you make the wontons but you don't have to post the recipe for me as you know I cook by microwave mostly hehe Sounds like you had a lovely day. Nite nite ~L

Lauren, let's see, I didn't see my daughter make the wontons but I went to the store with her when she bought the stuff to put in them. I know they have edamame, cooked and puree'd, chopped green onions, hoisan sauce(think that is how you spell it), sesame oil, and then you wrap them in the wonton wrapper, I think you brush them with canola oil and bake. If anyone wants to make them, let me get that recipe from my daughter just to make sure. The tator tot does seem to feel a little better today, although he does have a lot of congestion. I don't know if I am going to take him back to the doctor or not, since he isn't running a fever. We both get exposed to so many germs sitting in a waiting room full of sick kids, and I sure don't think he needs to catch anything else. I'm gonna wait it out a little longer.

Sarah, too bad your Mc D's doesn't have good salads. Just about every fast food chain in the states offers salad now, some better than others. My only complaint about Mc D's salad is, the chicken isn't very good, kind of a strange texture. But if you cover it with enough salsa, then it is ok. As often as my hubby wants to go to McDonalds, I have to try and find something semi healthy to eat there.

The little man is taking his nap, so I'm posting as usual. I'll read as many journals as I can until he wakes up.

We went for our morning walk at the mall even though it is cold and rainy out. In the mornings before the mall opens there are lots of walkers. And recently there has even been a group of young moms who get together for an exercise class. They each have their strollers, some of them have double ones, and some of the ladies are pregnant too. They walk together and stop at several places during their walk to do some exercises while singing kids songs like ring around the rosy. Their kids love it and looks like the moms are having fun while getting their exercise too. My grandson loves to watch them, we call them the dancin mommies.

After we finished our walk this morning, I went into J C Penneys and bought the boy his first summer outfit for this year. A Tshirt with a guitar playing dinosaur on it that says T-rocks, and a pair of khaki shorts. He is gonna be cute in it!

Hope everyone is having a great day, I'll be back later to post food for the day.

    Hey Joyce,
Oh no he is sick again. Man oh man- that bites.

edamame I know what it is, but I have never eaten it. I figured if the dried soy beans give me gas, these will too. So don't go there!

Speaking of the Anns house of nuts I had both of those lastnight at my party & OMG the energy mix with the soynuts, talk about gas bombs- they should put a warning label on the package- no lie. Yikes. The antioxidant one trumps with the dark chocolate, cranberries & almonds- way better.

Heavy user- good one! Your outfit sounds cute that you bought your grandson, way to spoil him! Gotta run bachelor is on..

Nat, I think summer begins in May. That's horrible, I'm not even sure when summer officially begins. Here in Texas, we begin having warmer days in late March and a few hot days in April. By May it will be quite warm and the airconditioner will be running full time. Of course we have been known to have 90 degree days in the middle of December. Texas has crazy weather! Sorry about those brush fires, that's horrible. We have bad grass fires in late summer too.

Megan, I told you that energy mix was a gas maker. I quit eating them for two reasons, gas and my appetite for them! I couldn't leave them alone. I can't even leave the pecans alone in the freezer, just eat them frozen. That is why I haven't bought the mix with chocolate, I didn't think I could control myself yet. It is on my list of things to buy when I feel stronger. I'm sure it is yummy! Did your guest like them? The other day a friend who has great-grandchildren said something about spoiling kids that I really like. It is my new motto! She said, "my grandkids aren't spoiled, they are well loved!". That's what I am saying too and I'm stickin to it! Enjoy your show!

The spud had a great day, and so did his NaNa and PaPa. When he woke up from his nap we played, danced, read books, and colored on a valentine card I made for his mommy. I traced his hand and let him scribble with crayons all over it. I think she will love it! Mommy joined us for dinner and I gave the boy a bath while my hubby helped my daughter study. I'm enjoying watching the little guy so much, I can't hardly wait for the next day to get here. I don't even mind getting up before the sun does.

    My food for today:
BREAKFAST - yogurt, oats, flax, wheat germ
LUNCH - peanut butter on 2 slices whole wheat bread & 1/2 bag of lowfat micro popcorn
DINNER - smoked turkey sausage, sauerkraut, broccoli, 1/2 skinny cow icecream sandwich
SPECIAL TREAT - 2 protein cookies & decaf coffee

    Walked 3 miles today.

Hey Mama J! Audrey here. been catching up with your journal! the outfit you bought for your grandson sounds so adorable. T-rocks! haha. it's so amazing how far you've come, and your meals sound awesome. It's so amazing you can eat 1/2 a skinny cow icecream sandwich! Kudos to you and your 3 miles as well. You know, my mum's 51 this year. She walks 15 minutes a day - not up to 3 miles Will be keeping tabs on your journal from now on.

Aubrey, I would have eaten the whole icecream sandwich but we only had 2 left. I gave one to my hubby and I halfed the other one with my grandson. Boy! a toddler sure can make a huge mess with an icecream sandwich. I started out 3 years ago only being able to walk around the block (approx 1/3 of a mile) and now I have on occasion walked 6 miles non-stop and a few times I have walked a total of 8 miles in one day (2 walks). I don't often get the opportunity to walk this far but it is cool knowing that I am capable of doing it. Thanks for posting on my journal, I love making new friends!

Megan, Flax is ok, toasted wheat germ pretty good too. The first time I put it in my yogurt I cut back on the oats and added too much flax and wheat germ. That wasn't too good. Next morning I went with the full amount of oats and less of the other stuff, much better. How much flax do you put in your yogurt/oat mix?

I just shake some in I suppose a good tablespoon for a guesstimate in addition to my 1/2 cup dry oats & a yogurt.
Way to one up me & do both the flax & wheat germ! Haven't had wheat germ in about a year, since I started using flax I guess.
it was crunchier though, so maybe I will pick some up again, lemme guess walmart?

Megan, Of course Walmart, where else? Although I am unhappy with them right now, their shelves are getting empty, hope it is because of inventory. Guess we will see.

I put a Tbsp of flax and one of wheat germ in the first morning but only added 1/4 cup of oats. I wasn't sure what the flax and wheat germ would do. It was kind of mushy, yuk! So the second morning, I tried a tsp each of the flax and WG and 1/2c oats, much better, just the way I like it, chewy!

Do you take your grandson walking with you in a stroller? My Mom is a big walker and anytime she is keeping my son, she takes him out. He usually sleeps the whole time. She walks about the same distance and you each day. I wish I could get myself motivated to walk each day! Maybe I will soon...

You sound like such an awesome Grandmother! We daughters, don't know what we would do without our parents!! Mine are always just a phone call away if I need anything They live like 5 minutes down the road which is GREAT!

Lauren, The dancin mommies already have one grandma that joins them. I thought she looked older and then I saw her in the mall restroom with the child and she called herself grandma. So I am sure I would be welcome to join them if I wished to.

Mikol, I do take my grandson walking in his stroller. We take his sippy cup, a bottle of extra juice, a cup of snacks like goldfish crackers, and toys of course. All this keeps him occupied for an hour of walking. And I get plenty of toe touches too as I have to keep bending over and picking his stuff up off of the floor. He is in a throwing stage right now. What a fun game that is! (Not!) I'm glad you have a good relationship with your parents and that they are so much help to you. My parents were always there for me when my kids were young, I couldn't have done it without them.

Sez, my daughter is a single parent. I know that raising my kids was tough with a full time daddy around, I can't imagine how hard it must be to do it alone. That is why I am dedicated to being there for my daughter and grandson. I want their life to be absolutely wonderful.

Good afternoon everyone! It is Tuesday, which means it is Idol night and Biggest Loser night too. I'll have to record one of them again, I can't be on two different channels at once. I'm old school and record them on VHS, bet you guys are laughing about that one.

The little guy is kind of cranky today, he didn't sleep well last night due to his stuffy nose. He is napping right now, so I hope that makes him happier. We did manage to walk for an hour this morning but it was tough. There were some fussy noises coming from the stroller. Sure wish spring would hurry up and get here so that we could walk outside and go to the park. I want to go to the zoo too. I have been teaching him some animal noises, we need to go to the zoo so we can talk to the animals. I have so many fun things I want to share with the boy as he grows, but I also DON'T want him to hurry and grow up, so I'll be patient and enjoy each stage as we come to it, even the throwing one! Hope you guys have a great Tuesday. Sunshine and warmth are wished for each of you! I'll be back later to post food.

Joyce, i agree with sarah you are a bloody brilliant mum and granmamma and im sure you know that family is so important. I loove idol and BL too, but dont follow tv religiously so no idea what day or time its on here haha i know i watch BL last week sometime and they were showing them how to make healthy meals with lean meat and chargrilled veggies... their faces were priceless, they were so dumbfounded and disgusted at the lack of sauces, cheese and fat smothering! haha. how far into your series are you? Ahh the ZOO! Which zoo is close to you? has your grandson been there before? he will love it! maybe his fussy noises was him trying to impersonate some animals haha. xxx

    Hey Joyce,
Sounds like you are having fun planning summer things with your grandson, you will probably have spring before you know it.
So what kind of goldfish does he like best? The only ones I ever eat are the pretzels, I am a fan of them.
Hope you had a good day and I am waiting for your menu so I can critique it! Megan

Nat, we are about 5 weeks into Biggest Loser, that's a guesstimation. And on Idol, they had the first night of Hollywood week tonight. Hope that makes sense. The closest zoo to us is the fort worth zoo, that is in the Dallas area and about 2 hours away from us. Do you know where that is, not sure if you have visited the states before.

Megs, the spud likes the cheddar gold fish. We found out the other day at the mall that he really likes cheezits too, but I don't think they are as good for him, and NaNa has trouble leaving them alone, so we won't be having them in the house. Ok...I'm just about ready for you to critique my menu.

Thank goodness the boy was much happier when he woke up from his nap. That makes his NaNa happier too. We had to go to Walmart (again!) to buy a big bill of groceries for our house and our daughter's too. I knew we would be there for quite a while so we went to grab something to eat first. Wouldn't want my guys getting hungry while we were shopping, we would end up with all kinds of junk food that way. We did buy $60 worth of diapers, I had coupons so we stocked up on them. The baby boy was such an angel at the restaurant and at Walmart. And he didn't throw many groceries on the floor at all! It ended up being a great day!

I watched Idol and recorded Biggest Loser. Ellen is going to be a tough judge. I didn't expect that. Hope tomorrow night is a better show, tonight was a bit boring.

    My food for today:
BREAKFAST - yogurt, oats, flax, wheat germ
LUNCH - peanut butter sandwich, apple
SNACK - 1/2c honeycomb cereal dry
DINNER - roasted chicken breast, green beans, 1/2 dinner roll, 1/2c soft serve icecream
SPECIAL TREAT - 2 protein cookies, decaf coffee

    Walked 3 miles.

    A+ on the eats!

I see you like dry cereal too, me too lurve the kashi dry.

Yeah I thought Idol was a snore again. I am not an Ellen fan at all, but she was ok tonite I guess, she hasn't annoyed me yet, but I am sure she will, specially if she gets up to dance with the contestants I will be this dude 8O 8O & say sit the heck down!

I am not a fan of the cheese anything or cheezits- bleh gross. No temptation on them. Kids love them as do my adult friends.
Glad you had a good outing.

Megan, I didn't plan to eat the cereal but I got them out for the boy to eat, and my hand just kept going into the box and to my mouth instead of his, imagine that! Don't worry, he got some too! Guess you don't have a problem craving cheetos then? I love them! Could eat the whole family size bag, but I know I would feel like poo afterwards, so I just leave them for the hubby to eat.

I got some cookies for the cookie jar today at the store. That is the first time in years our cookie jar has had cookies in it. My older grandkids are coming this weekend and I thought they might like to have something yummy to eat. I think I can handle it, but we will see. Haven't wanted them yet.

I haven't had the cheetos in awhile- but I used to eat the baked ones and I enjoy them, but my biggest peeve is the orange fingers, if they are turning my fingers orange, what the hell is that coloring doing to my insides????

Yeah for the cookies in the cookie jar, are you going to spritz the house with a yummy candle so it is like you baked them? Ha ha ha . Hey, if you want a cookie have a cookie or two Joyce. You are an adult, you can stop at two, don't let the cookie talk you into any more. Do you want me to come & talk over your shoulder like I used to do at your inlaws?

Megs, I hate the orange fingers too, especially on the grandkids and then my shirt and my couch and my walls... No I don't think there is much use in me trying to fool them into thinking I made the cookies. They are the vanilla oreo ones so they don't even resemble homemade cookies. I knew there was no way in the world I would leave real cookies from the bakery alone. They would be gone in no time, so these will just have to do. Besides...I have the yummy protein cookies that my daughter makes for me, they are much better anyway. The last time she made them with dried cranberries in them, I really like those.

A vanilla candle it is then, burn it baby & pretend you baked the Vanilla oreo's! I've seen em but never had them, I am a fan of dbl stuff oreo's though. Yummers, but ok you stick with the homemade jobbies then.
over & out I'm heading to bed.

Omg I love Idol and Biggest Loser tooo!!! Have you seen the Aussie versions of Biggest loser? I think they are great! I personally don't really like the British ones though and I think i've only seen a few episodes of one of the US ones. And American Idol WOOOOW!! Love that show.

Hey, well trying to read and catch up.. hope your boy is ok .... keep him away from germs.. like you said, he needs to be healthy for a while to build up his immune system... Is there nothing a doctor can do? It seems strange that a child is constantly poorly... are you sure you're not just being fobbed off ?

ok, so its my turn to live on the moon, but what are Edamame wontons ? xxxxx

Lauren, probably won't join that group of mommies at the mall, my hubby usually goes walking with me and I don't think he would want to work out with the dancin mommies, ha ha.

Sez, I haven't seen any version of Biggest Loser except the US one. I think I would like to though. I'm glad to see there are so many Loser and Idol fans on here. Those are the only two shows I watch each week.

Louise, I think the doctor might send us to an allergy specialist with the baby if this antibiotic that he is on now doesn't do the trick. Ok I will tell you what Edamame wontons are if you tell me what "fobbed off" is. Do you know what Edamame is? If not, I believe it is soybeans. You cook and puree them, add some other tasty ingredients and wrap a spoon full of this mixture in a wonton wrapper which is kind of like an eggroll wrapper except much smaller. Then you bake them. They are wonderful dipped in sweet and sour sauce. That's what an Edamame wonton is!

Megan, thanks for the big toothy grin! You are looking a little green today, feeling ok? Had bright primary colored rainbows today!

Jen, I haven't had a chance to watch last nights BL yet. I recorded it and I'm hoping to watch it tonight after I finish here, if I can keep my eyes open long enough. I'll let you know what I think later.

Today was a great day! Went for a walk at the church track for a change of scenery. My hubby is working today, so it was just me and the boy. After our walk, we went to Target, another change of scenery, no Walmart. We just looked around and bought a couple of books for the tot. We were going to go to the pet store next door to Target afterwards but when I picked the boy up from the shopping cart, the two cups of juice he had while we were walking was leaking out of his pants. He was soaked, and by the time I got him to the car, so was I, so we just came home for dry clothes. This evening my daughter and I went to IHOP for dinner. We both ordered from their healthy menu. It was such a ripoff. She order a spinach omelette(tiny) which was supposed to come with a big bowl of fresh fruit but didn't ($9) and I order the grilled talapia which came with broccoli ($9). My talapia was a tiny filet of fish and I got about 1/2c of broccoli. My plate was 3/4 empty and so was hers. We left the restaurant still hungry. I don't know if the problem was the new waiter(first day) or if that is what they really offer, but I don't think I will be back for more of that. I want to eat healthy, but I would like to get full. At least give me a big portion of veggies. Ok...that's my gripe for the day, I'll get on with the good stuff now. After our meal, we went to the mall to walk a couple of miles. I enjoyed getting to walk and talk with my girl, we haven't been doing much of that lately. Overall, it was a happy day!

    My food for today:
BREAKFAST - yogurt, oats, flax, wheat germ
LUNCH - lettuce/tomato salad w/lemon juice, caramel corn rice cake with pb
SNACK - apple, handful of pecans
DINNER - grilled talapia filet, 1/2c broccoli, banana (at home)
SPECIAL TREAT - 2 protein cookies, decaf coffee

Walked a total of 5 miles today.

Ooo target for a change! Do you pronounce it target or tar-jay? sometimes if someone asks me where i got my il cheapo tshirt from ill say 'tar-jay' - fake upper class woo!
Uck! sorry about the juice spill.. but its kinda cute all the same.
What a disappointing dinner! Although.. here $9 is pretty dam cheap for a meal. if we go out our average price is about $15-20. price aside, they still shouldn't serve shitty food and not even come with the fruit that it promised! wouldnt be going back there! Im glad you had some nice quality time with you daughter, that would lift my mood too LD

Nat, ha ha, the juice wasn't leaking out of his sippy cup, it was leaking out of his bladder. That commercial said those Huggies diapers would hold a geyser, but I've got proof they won't. Nope, just plain Target for me, but I've heard it pronounced Tar-jay. This Walmart gal always thought that Tar-jay was for all those people that wouldn't be caught dead in a Walmart store, and we all no I spend a good amount of time in Walmart. That wasn't an expensive meal here in my town, it was about average cost. I can go to Cheddars, Chili's, Applebees, Roadhouse, Cotton Patch...and get a meal that fills the plate and my tummy and bring home a to-go box too-boot for the same price. That is what really surprised me about our dinner. It was less food than a $2 tv dinner, and about as tasty too. I am thrilled that I got to spend time with my daughter, she has been studying so hard and needed to get out of the house, it made her feel better.
