I have been dealing with these issues now for quite a while (see my Introduction post "New and Confused") and have decided to face them head on. My way of overcoming this is not to think of it as dieting and a quick fix "I have 3 weeks to lose..." for example. The last time I managed to stop bingeing I told myself "I have the rest of my life to lose the weight" that way I didn't feel the pressure and I just got on with it. And lost it in a matter of a couple of months. Also I can't think of it in terms of "making up" for previous mistakes. This is day one, yesterday and the past few months have been awful but I have to put that to the back of my mind and move on. I hope to keep everybody updated on my progress. I wont be weighing myself as I find this to be very unhelpful so no miracle post of "I lost(...)doing this...", just my progress on overcoming this debilitating disease.
